Cannon from the HM Sirius from Dawes Point, Port Jackson, Sydney, this was one of the spare cannons shipped onboard the HM Sirius during the First Fleet voyage in 1788 and was fitted to a Carriage when the first Dawes Point Fort was established to protect the mouth of Sydney Cove.
The model was based on drawings from recovered cannons from the wreck of the Sirius at Norfolk Island plus an example based on photos from a park in Sydney. The carriage was reconstructed from a Painting from the time.
The Model was designed to be animated and features pivoted points where parts should pivot.
