Australian Aboriginal Cultural Weapons

This project will illustrate a few examples of Native Aboriginal Weapons that I was tasked to recreate as part of the Virtual Songlines Project.
Note I may issue further updates to some of these items, even though I may not be apart of the original project now.
It will include Shields for example.

A collection of Red Mangrove Bark Shields, spotted in the Eora region of Sydney.

A collection of Aboriginal Rainforest Shields from far north Queensland, Australia, in the TurtleRock region of the Tablelands. These shields were made from the Buttresses limbs of Fig Tree’s and featured carved handles in the backside,

These are a set of Cross shaped Boomerangs from the Yidinji tribe of Northern Queensland, Australia and were said to have been mostly used as toys to help teach the kids on the basics of flying a Boomerang.

This shield is from the Gweagal Clan from the Botany Bay (Kamay) region of New South Wales. The shield itself is currently located in Cambridge England and is held by the British Museum. This was one of the shields taken by Captain James Cook in 1770.
